Is my betta constipated? Help?

Context. I've had my betta for about 1 week in a 5 gallon, just vacuumed the gravel today and barely saw any poop or debris (aside from dead plant leaves). I'm worried he's constipated, although he doesn't appear to have a bloated belly... where is the poop!? First few days he got mosquito larvae and blood worm until I bought a pellet small enough for him to swallow. (He's a tiny dude). Pictures attached. He's very active and doesn't seem to have any problems swimming, good appetite. I tried to get multiple angles of his belly but darn he's active with the lights on.Temp has been 78 steady, and PH + GH in normal ranges. KH I noticed today is slightly low, probably due to the fact I used distilled water for the water change bc of the hard tap water I have. Any opinions, tips would be helpful. New betta owner and I want to give him the best life possible. Idk help? This is what I was afraid would happen to him even thought I was giving him very small amounts of food. He seems fine, but I know fish can seem fine until they aren't. Wanting to avoid anything serious.

He looks perfectly fine to me. Betta poop can be very small and easy to miss. It also sometimes is sucked up by the filter.

U can also feed him part of a deshelled cooked pea from time to time, maybe once a week just to keep things moving. It helps with constipation. Agree with above too...I hardly ever see betta poop except when I had a bare bottom tank. Theyre tiny little balls that are hard to find

funny you mention that, two days ago I fed him a tiny bit of thawed pea bc of my fear of constipation. It was only a bite size amount with 1 pellet. Thank you. He’s not fully grown so it’s hard to portion his meals ( for a new betta owner ). Once he’s big enough id love to give him thawed blood worm

He looks fine. Daphnia is actually a better laxative for bettas if you can find it. It is a great once or twice a week food too. Distilled water lacks minerals and oxygen that is important for aquatic life. I suggest that you stop using the distilled water and use the tap water. Bettas don't care about ph or hardness as long as it is steady. so just don't do a 100 percent water change and add tap water. Add Seachums prime to the new water and try to match the temperature of the new water with the remaining tank water. which should be at 78-82 degrees.

You won't notice any Betta poop in your tank after a week. Its not a dog. lol

Id 100% stop using distilled water. DEFINITELY not healthy for your fish. They need the minerals in water. Your tap water is perfectly fine. If you have city water you'll want to use Prime to condition it.

Id also bump the temp to 80/82. Ive been keeping Bettas for decades and I have MUCH better luck with them there. Warm temps and light feedings are your friend.

lol Thanks! I already use prime and I’ll stop using distilled. I only used it for that 20% water change but will switch to tap.
