Is my betta a double-tail or a HalfMoon with dammaged fins?

So I bought this guy the other day. I picked him because he was in the lfs' display tank (all others were in filthy little cups). It was labeled as double-tail betta. Is it? I think it's a halfmoon with a part missing, I've never seen a double-tail, though. So I'm asking

Tank: 10 gallon, lighly planted, filtered, heated.

first picture looks fine, 2nd picture looks damaged. Next time if your going to take a picture of the betta, try to make it flare. It'll be easier to identify

I find the best way to get a pic of my boy flaring is to hold the mirror on the side of the tank, while holding the camera at the front. He will flare, but mine is quite a whimp, and quite literally scared of his own reflection. He patrols his tank and doesn't keep still for about 10 mind or so. I have to be very quick! (Just not too often!)

HTH!
