Is My Angelfish Egg Bearing?

I’m not sure if she’s just gotten fatter or if she’s ready to lay eggs? Any input is great. I haven’t had any luck with eggs in the past because my male has always eaten them.

 

That is not normal! Yea the female is going to get bigger but not wider...

 

My recent spawn the female looked like she had eaten a marble - she was round and not squared though.
However your female isn't displaying a breeding tube, which means she hasn't eaten too much (sometimes very fed angels' breeding tubes will pop out with too much food in their body), but the squaring is not something I have seen even with multiple pairs and single females that have laid.

 

The lack of breeding tube tells me she is NOT gravid.

That doesn't look normal to me at all. How is she behaving?

Has she always looked that way? Or is it a relatively new development? How long have you had her? how big was she when you got her?

She’s always been a little wider than my male. But now it’s more pronounced. She was large when I bought her. And we’ve had her for approximately 4 months.
