Is it too early to scrub tank walls?

Hello! I have a question regarding scrubbing my tank walls. My tank is newly established (about a month or so) and I recently had an algae explosion. My nerite has been doing a great job keeping it clean, but unfortunately he can’t get it all. I was wondering if it would be super damaging to scrub the tank walls? Will this be really bad for my bacteria colony? I only want to do the front wall so the snail still has algae.
Can I use a magnetic algae scrubber? Or am I better off just doing that with a normal sponge?

The only reason it could be harmful is if you didn't have a filter. If you do, scrub away. If your tank is glass you can use a magnetic one, if it's acrylic, i would encourage the sponge since it scratches so easily.

I do indeed have a filter I’ll have to pick up a magnetic scrubber, they seem pretty convenient!
Thanks for the help and quick response

If your concern is removing too much bacteria I don't think just cleaning the front glass will cause a problem.

What everyone said before me is correct. Beneficial bacteria lives in pours surfaces like your substrate, wood, rock, and primarily, your filter media. Using a magnetic scrubber and other algae cleaning tools will have little to no effect on the bacterial colony. Your all good to clean up your little fishies home so you can see them better

It'll be fine. I've done things way "worse" than that and everything was okay.

Thanks everyone! sounds good! Is there a kind of sponge that is aquarium safe that I could have around my house? I have Mr. clean erasers if that would work?

As long as it is the original magic erasers with no cleaning agent added they will work just fine.
