So I got a tank without a cover and I can't buy a separate cover in the store (not available). I could order a piece of plexiglass in hardware store

but I guess it would block light from the led lamp?
So I put this plastic tablecloth on top. Since my first betta was so sick I'm super anxious about doing something wrong. Will any dangerous chemicals be released to the tank?

It's sold to be used on kitchen table for humans, so I guess it has to be relatively safe?

It doesn't go into the tank but water vapour condensates on it and falls back into the tank.
