I have a 46 gallon tank and this past saturday added 4 platys, TSS, and a small pantyhose sack of gravel from a cycled tank to my Aquaclear filter. \

Today my readings were 0,0,10ppm's nitrate

is it possible my tank cycled or what would explain this?

hanks,

alex

If your tap water tests 0 for nitrates your probably good to go.
Looks like the TSS and seeded gravel did the job. Nice!

Keep an eye on your parameters for a while to be sure.

Nice job! Of course it is possible with TSS, just make sure your paramters are stable and continue to test. I am also using TSS on my 10 gallon tank.

Looks good, but test every day for a few days to make sure. TSS is crazy like that: I added it on a Sunday and had a cycled tank by Wednesday!

Tested tap, No nitrates.

This is gonna be a cichlid tank so the platys will be moved to a cycled ten gallon.

i will also check again to be sure.

I've never had a tank cycle that quickly on TSS, mine has always taken about 7 to 8 days, but since you did have some seeded material it could be. Keep an eye on it for sure.
