Is it possible to breed the two?

Tom

What I mean is, the golden ram and the blue ram. Is it possible to breed the two? Aren't they the same fish just a different color variety.

Yup, I think so. It would make some interesting babies

It is possible, but I don't think you will get much of a result. The gold ram is a color morph of a GBR and that makes me believe that you would just get regular GBR's carrying the gold genotype. If you bred those fry back with the gold then you might get about 50% gold. Though after an eventuality my guess would be that they would go sterile because these aren't naturaly occurring strains, they were created through selective breeding.

Thanks. Jacko, you seem to know a lot about rams.

Thanks, I have been researching all that I could since I was about 9 years old, my dream was to have a breeding pair with a planted tank. Unfortunatly a krib cut that plan short and I can't find a proper pair in a resonable price range (I can get them 8.99 a peice or 30.00 for two that they claI'm is a pair, what is up with that?) Thanks.
