Is it a Crowntail or fin rot?

Hello guys! I just started fish keeping. About 3 weeks ago I got a betta. I since added 3 cory cats, 2 otos. And 2 other tiny tank mates. Everyone is getting along fine. I just started getting worried cause one of my oto catfish unfortunately passed from swim bladder. Just like anyone else, I scared myself on google and I'm worried that this betta might have fin rot.
Like I said I bought him 3 weeks ago. His fins looked the same then as they do now, frayed with white tips. The picture of him in the cup was the day I bought him. As you can see he has white tips
My water parameters are good. He's in a 10 gallon. Bubble sponge filter. 77-80 degrees F. Live plants places to hide. he is very active! He loves to play in the bubbles and actually schools with my cory cats at times.
I'm open to any suggestions as a new fish owner. I've done alot of research but I'm still learning alot every day.
The darker photo was taken a few days ago when I put the LED in there

He just seems to be a crowntail. I would also reccomend having a bigger group of either the cories or otos as they need to be kept in groups of 6+

Will do! And thank you for your response! I was getting myself worried haha. I also planned on it. I have the 3 cory's now and sometimes my betta hangs out. They seem happy. I do need more otos however. I don't want the other to be stressed or feeling alone

The more otos the better, just make sure to not overstock cause its only a 10g. Add them in slowly. Also your betta is very pretty

If the fins have not started receding or looking more frayed then I would say it's most likely regrowth or his coloration.

Definite crowntail. They always make me paranoid though...i always thought mine constantly had fin rot...he didn't...but that didn't stop me from changing his water everyday.

But crowntails are a good looking fish, one of the best looking bettas in my opinion!

I agree with the crowntail assessment too

Yeah I haven't noticed it getting any worse. There's a small part I'm keeping an eye on, but I am taking pictures every day to see if there are any changes. Luckily he's probably a crown and he's healthy. Sadly the white tips on his fins made it a concern, otherwise I really like that coloring on him

I'm glad

I agree! And the fact that his tips are white just makes it more difficult I mentioned in another reply that I am taking pictures of him every day to see if the coloring changes or goes further up the fin. He seems happy where he's at so I'm happy
