I used pH reagent in my DC and it fell off the side of tank several times spilling into tank .
Never had an issue ,but if you are concerned then maybe install some carbon ?

The drop checkers contain a buffer solution and a drop or two of bromothymol blue pH indicator solution. In its solid state, it can irritate the eyes, skin, nasal passages, etc. I would certainly not advise pouring the indicator solution on your skin or drinking it. However, when you consider the small quantity of indicator being released into an aquarium, where it is further diluted, it is unlikely that that it will harm your fish.

if the drop checker is coming lose repeatedly, it may be time to get a new drop checker. It will also help if you clean the area where the suction cup is to attach using a razor scraper or non-toxic scrubbing pad to insure a good seal.

I use the U shaped neck ones just for that same reason. Anything with suction caps is completly useless. If the length is a problem probjust use a bit of plastic tube as an extension.

yeah suction cups suck. i used a powerhead once and it ruined my substrate layers in my planted tank by falling and spitting the sand around causing a divot in the dirt multiple times. now i use a wave maker with a magnet... but yeah anything suction cup sucks. do you have a link to these types of checker? ive never heard of it

Check on ebay, that's where I picked mine up they are quite cheap.
Sorry for the dirty looking tube its my spare.
I also make up my own reagent as the on line sellers are just to expensive for what it is. Can give you the mix if you need.
This is on Australian ebay. Probably you can also find one locally if you are US based.
