are you feeding them any high nutrient foods? neons can also lose color if they are stressed as well.

I don't think its dangerous...... It just means they aren't as bright.

Why is it so light? Can you darken it a little and see. Otherwise it is probably stress. What size tank, how many neons and what other fish do you have? Oh I just noticed your aquarium details. Your stocking isn’t good. You need like 8 neons and six Cory’s or they will stress and lose color among other issues.

What exactly do you mean by 'lightness'? If it's so bright that it's causing them stress it could eventually result in health issues.

can we have a pic of your tank? is it bright with white sand and no plants or something that you think its to bright or what. my cardinals go pale after the lights are turned off, but probably unrelated.

It's simply the way they try to camouflage in their surroundings.
If evenything is lightened brightly and the bottom is light as well I would be as less colorfull as possible to prevent being eaten by predators. "I am not here-colors"

Did you do anything on that tank meanwhile? We all told you the setup is not good for your fish.

They recovered during the night but I bet they will lose color again.

That's normal. It's dark, the fish is dark. It's bright, the fish is light.
Neons like it darker.

If your tank is big enough then yes. They probably won't school together though.

Did you get any of the deco you were looking at?
Exactly, plus it's just 2 black neons that are left. they should be in a bigger group.

You will have to post a pic when you get it done! Yeah you need more black neons first.
