Is buying fish for resale legal in North Dakota? I want to do a business where I buy bettas from store, cure them of their sickness, and then sell them. But first I need to know if it's legal before I start.

I would assume not! If the store has a issue with that I fly down there and smack them. Your saveing fish not trying to re sell them for a higher price.

Not sure if you know this, but North Dakota isn’t part of New England.

Ok, I wasn’t sure. Not enough context. I’ve talked to someone who thought D.C. was in Washington State, and she was born and raised in the U.S. her entire life, lol, so you never know.

I have several that I have bought, raised or healed up and turned around and sold them for either their bought price or a slightly higher price reflecting what was put into the fish. I raised one blushing angel up for a year, bought him for 5$, sold him for 40$, he was 7-8 inches tall and stunning.
It is not illegal to buy fish and sell them - as long as you are hobbyist, otherwise you would need a license for selling to stores and other places.

You could call your county or state office to be sure, I doubt it would be an issue, but you never know. Might as well ask the ones that would do the enforcement.

Hi, I know it’ll more than likely be different there but over here in the Uk if you’re buying fish in with the intent of selling them on then it’s classed as a business & you have to be registered as a business & licensed.
People have been caught out as the powers that be do monitor selling sites such as eBay, Amazon & free sites etc for people who are placing regular ads so I’d suggest you do some local research to be sure you’re all ok to do it.

I have bought them and sold them, but when I bought them the intention was not to sell them. I don't see why it wouldn't be
