Is Betta's Top Fin Normal?

    As always, it's hard to tell from pictures but I think he looks great! His fin might be a bit tattered from before you got him, but if he's colored up that means he's getting comfortable in his new home and will hopefully heal up any previously ripped fins.

    Yes that's normal. Betta dorsal fins sometimes have those trailers. Usually there's 2 of them. If there's more then his fins are ripped, but if it's just 2 that is absolutely normal.

    Thats good to hear :x I've only had one other betta and it never had that lol so was curious

    I think it only happens in certain tail types. That is a halfmoon (?) that you have. The betta in my avatar is a halfmoon as well, and he has those same 2 trailers on his dorsal fin.

    Looks all right. Just keep him in good water conditions and a nice tank. He'll do great. What a beauty :)
