Is ADF eating duckweed ok?

So today I decided to add some duckweed from another tank into my 10g ADF tank. Anyways, I come back a few hours later and find one of my females floating near the surface, popcorning down the duckweed! She was literally just floating and whenever a piece would pass her she would suck it up. I took the duckweed out because I didn't want her to overeat, but I'm kinda worried about how much she DID eat. Should I just not feed for a little while, or should I be worried?

 

How odd. It's not unusual for them to lunge at something that moves but gulping down duck weed is odd.
Was she gulping for air or purposely eating?

I'd fast for a day or so. Being it's greens it should pass quickly. Glad you took it out. You don't want her filling up on something that's not giving her the nutrients she needs.

 

Thanks for responding! She wasn't gasping for air, I've actually seen her do this exact thing before, except instead of duckweed it was the floating eggs of the other female in the tank. Im not sure if that's where she got it from, but it's not "gasping" behavior, she is purposely floating and eating at the same time. She's gone back to hiding in leaf-litter now that iv'e taken the duckweed out, as well.

Hey there, she's doing great! I withheld from feeding one their bi-weekly bloodworms (much to the dismay of the others, I'd assume,), and everyone looks great. I may even put some back in for them to snack on later, not like I don't have enough duckweed!
