Is A Sponge Filter Or An Canister/power Filter Better To Use In A Snail Tank?

I use a sponge. Easier to use and they’ll use it as a hang out. Like a bar.

I'm looking into sponge filters for this exact reason! I've got a ten gallon tank that I will be using as a grow out tank. Right now I have about 150 to 200 babies in 1 and half gallon. Only a few weeks old. So I'm looking at filtration. I've never used anything but HOBs. I can't seem to find a GPH for sponge filters. Do they work that way? How do I know which one to get?

It’ll be the air pump you use to run the sponge that determines the gph really, the bigger the pump, the more flow. I like my double sponge filter, fairly cheap on Amazon. My pump is small though for a 5 gallon, just get a stronger one for your ten.

That looks almost exactly like the one I bought, I think the brand name was Powkoo. The more air that flows thru the filter the more water it will draw thru. I use mine as a source of BB if I ever need it, it's in my 55 just doing its thang.
