iPhone vs. Droid

So, my grandpa bought my an iPhone 4 (not the 4S, just the normal one lol) for Christmas. I'm currently posting from it right now lol I was considering the Droid Bionic, before I saw that the iPhones were only $99 with a 2 year contract at Verizon (it was time for my 2 year upgrade-whatever-thingy as it was). I already have a MacBook Pro, and I love it. May not ever go back to a PC ever again lol

So anyway, I was wondering, iPhone, or Droid, and why?

Droid. Not as rigid as iPhone far as apps and operating system.

I've had an android phone, and I currently have an iPhone 4 and I really liked them both. Androids have better customization, and less "restrictions". iPhone in my opinion has better apps, definitely runs smoother, and it by far the best built phone money can buy.

I would say stick with the iPhone. Android is very good, but not as stable and reliable.

My mom had a Droid. Several of them, in fact. One of the first ones, then the Droid 2 Global and then the Droid 3. They are hard to use, to me. The iPhones real quick and easy, and runs smoother. I haven't played with any apps stuff yet, as I just set it up today, but I like it better then Droids.

I have had the iPhone 3gs and currently have the iPhone 4. I have no complaints. I probably won't get a Droid anytime soon as I am a iPhone fan boy. LOL

I like surfing the web on my iPhone than on my moms old Droids. The 3G is faster IMO, between the 2 brands. Plus I like SafarI better than Internet Explorer (even though it's not much different lol)

I've only used the iPhone, but had heard that the iPhone is more user friendly than the other smart phones. I really like my iPhone4, and my husband has the 3Gs (he got it for free with a 2 yr contract after driving over his 3G).

I am an apple person. I am writing this with my iPad. I don't have either of those phones though. But apple tops everything in most cases.

Just curious, do you have Verizon or AT&T?

We have Verizon.

AT&T for me. We live in the sticks, and it's the only one that gives good reception.

I think Verizon has faster 3 gallon speeds, but at&t gets better service in some spots. I have Verizon and it's the only thing that gets any service around me.

Same here. We used to have Nextell (now its Sprint), and where I went to middle school, you got litteraly no service. I went to school in a different county then where I lived, so mom changed us to Altell and we loved them, but Verizon took them over. Since its he best service everywhere, we just kept it. I was still on an Altell plan until I activated the iPhone this morning though.

I know how you feel with the school thing! My school has NO service on ANY cell company. It sucks.

The worst part was the really annoying "bleeeeeeeeeeeep" sound the Push-To-Talk-no-signal sound the stupid Nextell phones would make lol with Verizon and Altell we never had/have problems, unless we're at the top of a mountain, far away from civilization lol

Haha. My school is on a big hill in the middle of nowhere, so that would explain it!

That might do it XD my middle school was in the middle of the city, so that just makes Nextell crapy in that area. My college is kinda in the sticks, and I have no issues with service. So as long as Verizon wants to function, I'm good lol

Ive had the iPhone 4 for almost two years now and I love it. What it costs to build these compared to how much we pay for them is a steal. Their very sturdy. I've used a friends droid befor and it's like using a PC-FAIL.
It's the best phone I've ever had and easiest to use ill never use anything else.

I agree. Having an Internet Phone that's hard to use kinda makes it useless. I hate the Droid 3 mom has, but the Droid Bionic had good reviews. I wish I had a friend with one s I could play with it lol The demo phones at the store are no fun XD

If you hate the Droid 3, you will probably hate all the others. Android phones have almost identical operating systems. It would be like taking the iPhone's operating system and just putting it in the bodies of a thousand different phones.

True enough lol all they did was make it faster, so they say.

I love my droid x and can't stand the apple software and media restrictions.

Why is it that you find the droids so much harder to use?

I like my droid. I need a pull out keyboard so touchscreen wouldn't work for me.

I had a droid incredible since it first came out. I bought an iPad 2 last Christmas and love it. I really liked my droid incredible too. Just recently got the new iPhone 4s a month or so ago. One thing I miss from my incredible is swiftkey keyboard. I hate that there is not a predictive txt on iPhone like it. I could txt much faster using it. Another thing I like about android better is the free apps. Sure apple has a lot of free ones but the ones I used on android were better. Also, turn by turn directions is better using google on android. Telenav for iOS you have to pay for after a week or so of use for voice turn by turn.

I almost returned my iPhone. I may give them to my kids in March when there upgrade comes up if the family shared data plan is out then for Verizon. We'll see.

I thought I would too, but the touch screen on the iPhone 4 is... Soft, I guess is a way to put it. It's not sensative and touchy and spazy like other all touchy screen phones, like the LG Dare, for instance. I hate that phone so much lol you get a 15 day trial period for each new phone, though I don't think I'll be trading this one out.

I found that there's a auto correct that also serves as an auto fill in on the iPhone. A little window pops up under what you're typing and if you press the space bar, it'll fill in on it's own.

I don't like the iPad as much as the iPods and iPhones. I'd rather have a lap top.

I have a Garmin for directions, so that's not too big of a deal. Lol

The droid bionic's camera is terrible from what I hear. I would go with a galaxy nexus or galaxy S2 droid. IPhone is a safe phone for those that don't want to mess with their phone and just want it to work. I actually really like windows phone but it is still missing a few things before I would get one
