I noticed my gourami looks like it has ich. I have snails and shrimp in that tank so are there invert safe ich medicine? I can’t raise the temperature because my heater is set to 80 but only heats to around 76

Ive used rid ich with snails. Cory uses Ich X to quarantine all his fish and inverts. He said it’s safe for snails and shrimp.

I suggest you separate the snails and shrimps to another tank because from my research ich can be carried by inverts, but without a host for approximately 2 weeks the ich cycle will be interrupted. Then you can dose whatever ich medication in the Gourami tank and add back the inverts 2-3 weeks later.

Some people say rid ich is not safe for snails?

I can’t catch the shrimp because they have too many places too hide and don’t come out much. I think the ich came from 2 female swordtails that my parents gave me. I wasn’t planning on buying swordtails for my tank

I use Ich-X with inverts and I've never had a problem.

Should I buy a new heater and raise the temperature or treat with ich x?

I would stick to the heat method, buy a new heater.

2 weeks. 86 degrees. Gravel vac every couple days .

What’s the point in doing the heat treatment for 2 weeks when you can treat it with a week or less with meds. Just causes unnecessary stress.

I have sand and plants so I can’t really gravel vacuum. I just vacuum the debris above the sand and my corydoras turn the top of the sand so the debris is not stuck in the sand. Would doing heat and ich med take less time?

Yes the heat and medication will make it take less time. The heat speeds up the life cycle so when they reach the free swimming they are killed by the medication.

If I do both can I do it for 1 week? Will general cure kill ich or is it safe for inverts? I can’t get ich x for 2 days because I have to order online but I can get general cure tomorrow

I ordered ich x and I’m buying a new heater today. Should I raise the temperature by 1 degree every 12 hours?

Will corydoras be ok with ich x?
