Introducing Baby Billie the Betta!

Welcome to our home, Billie!

My girls decided that they wanted a Betta, too. And they wanted a BABY. I'm excited to see him grow up. Bought him at Petco today. I'm guessing he's a Half Moon. His cup is unmarked. (Anyone have any other guesses?)

His coloration is really beautiful, but he probably won't stay lavender and pink forever. I hope he does, though.

And his tank? HOLY COW IT IS NEON. (They chose. And that's okay with me.)

I'm not thrilled about the floating jellyfish. I'm worried about the tendrils, but he's so small right now I don't think it will be a problem. The plant is silk, and the other ornaments are jelly/silicone. He's in Mr. Bubble's old 2 gallon right now, but we will be moving him up into a bigger tank ASAP -- like within a couple of days. (Mr. Bubbles lived over a year in that tank until we moved him to the Fluval Spec V.) Probably going to get a Fluval Spec 3 for Billie.

He looks adorable and has great color, but I'm leaning more towards a veil tail. I could be wrong but I suppose time will tell. Keep us updated cuz I am also curious to see how he turns out

Looks a lot like the baby betta boy I got there 2 weeks ago!
I don't think it would be a half moon. Probably a VT. I think mine might be either a combtail or VT cause the female we got is at least a comb tail and usually when its a breeders dump stock they are all similar (I think)

Bizzaro Twins! What a pretty Baby Betta Boy! I love the white tipped ventrals.

I'm excited to see how he colors up, and what he is.

Billie about 12 days later. Wow. He has grown. His coloring has become more rich. The blue is no longer periwinkle. His tails used to be blue with red trim, but are now red with blue.

Still don't now what he is, but I'm leaning towards veil tail. Most common, of course, and popular too.

We like him. He's quickly outgrowing his itty bitty one gallon. Need to upgrade soon.

Here is a pic bomb. Hard to seem but his fins are serrated. Very pretty. Still playing the, "What kind of Betta is he?" guessing game.
