input for new additions (semi aggressive)

Hey everyone, just joined the forums.
Been on here a lot as I just went thru my set up for my first tank and wow was I impressed with how much I learned here
I got a 36gal BF and so far everything is running great... Minus my Amazon swords that I couldn't save.
Anyways I'm looking to get a couple more fish to finish up stocking my tank but I'm not sure what to get..... Currently I have 1 rainbow shark, 3 tiger barbs, and 3 green tiger barbs. Plus a Chinese algae eater which I'm not too impressed with.
I'm trying to find 2-3 more fish that kind of occupy towards the surface, my tank is pretty tall so it looks odd when they all hang out mid to bottom level. I've been told to get some angels but they just don't really catch my eye, so I'm wondering if there's something else that might work with a semI aggressive tank
Tons of community fish but it's difficult when it's semI aggressive. Thanks a bunch!!!

First off welcome to the forum. You may wish to edit your post and take out all of the code that did not work, it makes it very difficult to read it.

I shall let those who are more experienced with stocking weigh in on your options.

Welcome to Fishlore!

You have some stocking incompatibilities that I'd fix before you added more fish.

The rainbow shark needs a tank 48" long, so your tank is a bit too small. I'd rehome him, and that'll open up your stocking a bit.

I'd also rehome the Chinese algae eater - he'll get too large and aggressive for your tank.

You can increase your barb school to 10-12. They'll be less nippy and bullyish in larger schools.

After that, you can add a bottom dweller (and keep with the semi-aggressive theme). Do you like Bolivian rams, kribs, or rainbow cichlids? There are many other options too!

Ah much better.
@TexasDomer is usually pretty good with stocking questions so I'm a tagging for you.

Id really hate to rehome my rainbow since he's my favorite one but if its gonna cause him stress by not having space then I would rather keep something that will be happier. The 6 barbs I have now don't nip or anything but they may as they get bigger (I guess)
Once the CAE gets too big I'm planning on taking him back to the store, plus I heard that they are worthless when the mature more.
I need to find a local shop with a better selection of fish than petsmart where I usually go. Ill check out the three you mentioned and see what I can find

Thanks
