Injured Albino Cory

I was doing a water change yesterday, so I obviously had the lid off of the tank, and one of my cories jumped out and fell down onto the floor. I picked him up and put him back in the tank, and he was probably out of the water for 20 seconds at most, however some of his fins got ripped. Ive been closely monitoring him and he has had no behavioral changes, however probably 70% of his tail fin is gone and maybe 15% of the fin on his back, and there was also a small dot of red at the base of one of his fins. Tank parameters are pH 6.4, ammonia 0 ppm, nitrites 0 ppm, and nitrates 2 ppm. He isnt in a quarantine tank since i no longer have one, I had to get rid of the one i used to have. Should i set one up for him? He lives with 3 other cories and a betta in a 10gal (disclaimer: I am going to move the cories to a larger tank soon when they get older/bigger, they are still young/small enough to be in the 10gal) What should i do about this, should I just keep monitoring him?

6.4 is a little low for corys and a betta fish in my opinion. I don't see that 70% of a fish's tail can come off by impact. It also depends on how high your tank was. It could be that you didn't notice the fin rips before and you noticed it after he jumped out. Could be that your betta is bullying him. I have no idea what that red spot is. He will be fine, but I would suggest keeping an eye on that red spot, and also watch your betta for any signs of aggression.

No, i make a point to throughly Iook over my fish to make sure theyre healthy every day, it happened after the fall, it was probably 3 feet and there were a few things he hit on the way down so i wouldnt doubt it. Ive had them with the betta for almost a year now, the betta hardly ever pays them attention and has not ever done anything to harm them, he is a very docile betta.

OK! His fins should grow back then. Watch the red spot.
