Info on Mollies.

ok I have 3 mollies. all males.. and one pure white, a black and white, and a pure black one........ and the black one is huge and always showing his dorsal fins, like showing who's boss kinda thingy... is that normal? "Alpha" male mollies???

 

Yes it is normal. And that is exactly what he is doing, showing who is dominate.

 

That's why I only have females in my community tank! I don't breed anyway, and the females seem to get along fine.

 

Yes my dominant molly is actually white. And the female is pure black.

 

Glad you've just got the one sex. My mollies were like rabbits and because my tank was heavily planted the babies were mostly surviving. I was overrun. I had two black lyretails and two silver balloon mollies. The male was very dominant. My fishy friend took them in the end because he has two huge tanks.

 

My relatives have three male mollies in their tank and there is a bit of bickering. There is an alpha molly for sure.
