Info On Fin Melt?

I got a betta fish about a two and a half weeks ago, and didn't really take much notice, as I didn't know how their fins were supposed to look; but upon pictures and further research, his ventral fins appear to be deformed, and the problem only seems to be getting worse among his other fins. Treatments? Advice? I have barely been able to find information about it online.

Is it another condition? I only figured fun melt, because of the way his fins are starting to ball up at the ends, and they're starting to get thinner/more transparent at ends. I guess I wasn't paying attention when I picked him, as I was just drawn in by his personality and his colors, as they were the colors of my first pastel project. Name is Remmie, short for Rembrandt after the artist and pastel brand. Would really like to help this guy if I can, please let me know what you think! I've zoomed in for a better look

I've never heard of fin melt, but it looks a bit like fin curling to me.

In addition to the questions above, what's your water hardness? What do you feed him?

Are you maybe talking about fin rot? I would need more pictures of the fins to judge. If it is fin rot, the best treatment is daily water changes. Keeping good water quality, plus good quality food for him will help him heal quicker.

Did a quick google search and there is a such thing as "fin melt". Never heard of it before, you learn something new everyday I guess lol.

The difference between the 2 is that in fin rot the fins slowly rot off. But fin melt the fins will melt together at the tips instead of rotting. This was my source.

If the ventrals are deformed, there's nothing to do. The other fins in the photo look normal range to me. Are you sure it isn't his age? Younger Betta splendens males have clearer tips, as the pigment spreads down them with time.
The photo looks like a young betta's fins.
