Indian Almond or Rooibos Tea

Need to make a tonic for my Bettas, and was wondering which of these two is preferred (I have both). Or, how about a combination of the two (or would that be too much of a good thing)?

Also, are there any specific recipes for blackwater tonics that anyone has experience with?

Rooibos is likely a lot easier to get a hold of just because you can find it in stores while the leaves will take a long time to get to you. The tea would also probably be faster in terms of brewing time too.
I personally like to use the leaves and alder cones because I like how they look in the tank itself but I know not everyone likes the sort of dirty aesthetic of black water tanks. A combo should be fine if you choose to do that too!
