Imperial Ranger Pleco Help

    I have just bought an imperial ranger pleco which I am very attached I have 55 gallon tank I have been told they stay small but also the get a foot long but also that they take years to grow and I don’t know if I can house him when he’s larger i have 6 diamond tetras 6 tiger barbs 3 swordtails 2 angelfish and 5 Madagascar rainbows I really don’t want to give him up any advise and or answers to the size and growth questions? Plz help

    I do not have experience with this exact type BUT most "normal size" (so not the small plecos) plecos grow pretty rapidly until they reach 4-6" then they do slow down quite a bit. So I can't give an exact guess as to when he will reach full size.

    My best guess would be 1-2 years in good conditions.

    Can you consider looking into a larger tank? A 75g is a really similar size in terms of space as a 55g.
