I'm Such A Sucker!

My LFS gets in some really stunning bettas and I always go have a look at them when I'm in there. I was there today as I'm restocking a 5 gallon tank and planned to have a tiny fish community. I went by the bettas and other than two reserved females, this guy was all on his own and has been there through the last two restocks. I first saw him like two, nearly three weeks ago. I asked the guy about him and he told me that in comparison to their other stock coming through, this one wasn't 'fancy' enough for most people. He looked so sad in his tiny tank and I am such a pushover! Bye bye tiny fish community, and hello betta. Just couldn't bear to see him in that tiny tank any longer. He's definitely not as fancy as most of the others they get, but I think he's cute anyway. Just hope I can do good by him!

He is just stunning! Love his colours, I'm a sucker as well. I have a hard time saying no to unhappy or unwanted bettas. He sounds like he's loving the new tank

 

Thanks all! Nice to know he's appreciated by some. Luckily the tank (which is actually a 7g rather than the 5 I said) was well suited for him already with a sponge filter and silk or live plants. Not too sure about my bumblebee thorn snails in with him as he's had a few prods already and made them very nervous and still, but hopefully it's just curiosity and he'll leave them alone. Eventually I might see how he is with some ghost shrimp if I add a bit more ground cover. He seems happy with his new space anyway!
