My boyfriend and I went to petco yesterday. I know I probably shouldn't buy fish from there but I still do sometimes. But anyways I'm mad/sad because I fell in love with almost every betta they had and they had like 5-6 lemon blue eyed bristle nose plecos for 30$ each and I couldn't get any of the bettas and/or plecos because I don't have money because my job won't give me hours and I don't really have the space for 6 more bettas and 6 baby plecos. I could have kept the plecos in the 65 gallon. But I would have had to get dividers for the two 10 gallons. But that would mean 2 bettas each and I can't divide my 20 gallon because I have my Clown plecos who needs the 20. Even though he literally never leaves his wood.
Not having money or space sucksss. I just want to love every fish.
Oh and then they had this really pretty yellow cichlid that I really loved but of course I couldnt get him. And I don't think I could keep him with an angelfish so that's fun. Why can't the fish be nice to each other!? Lol

Oh, trust me, I know what you mean! Imagine having a really weird-shaped room with little walls everywhere you turn, a huge window in the front of the room where all types of algae thrives, and a gigantic bed that you want to get rid of but your family insists that you keep it (mind you, I'm 60.5" tall full-grown, so I really don't need an 84" bed...). Imagine that the only places you actually CAN put a tank is on a dark 30" wall, on your desk where a bunch of sunlight gets to it, and behind your monstrous bed where your double french doors are bound to hit the tanks! My room is actually the study, so I guess all of this makes sense. Legit the only reason why I live in the study room is because, where I live in Colorado, your basement gets FREEZING every single night, so basically everywhere else in the house is either too cold, too dark, or too light, AND your family doesn't want fish tanks all over the house, so goodbye kitchen, bathrooms, and Master bedroom!

Honestly, it usually really sucks, but I get around it however I can! I've always been really good at shoving things in tight spaces. Guess it's a talent of mine (lol)...Like, seriously, how can you fit a giant 14 cubic foot Rat cage, a 50 gallon breeder Crabitat, a 10 gal *temporary* Garter Snake tank, a nano 6 gallon Betta aquascape, a 65 gallon Goldfish tank, and four 20 gallon Long Betta tanks (divided into two parts each)!? Not to mention the many indoor plants growing and the tons of Ratty toys laying around, their little plant garden, and all their other little doodads (they're free-roamed Ratties, besides at night, on vacation, and when I'm gone on errands). So trust me, I definitely know what you mean, living in a tiny study

EDIT: Oh, and the plant terrariums, and the wall-hanging Shrimp aquascapes, and the Marimo bowl, and the......

I have actually asked if I could get rid of my bed and have the closest walls knocked down to make my room bigger. And if they would take the carpet out. They said no obviously
Right now I have 30 gallon crested gecko enclosure, 20 gallon, three 10 gallons, and three empty arboreal tarantula enclosures. My tarantula is in the freezer. He died.
I NEED MORE FISH FRIENDS. Both humans and real fish. I really want a lobster. I'm like lilo. "Can we get a lobster?" and everyone I know is like no. why won't my family support my dreams?!

Every time we save a fish like that big box stores see it as another sale. The only way to have these store treat them better is to unfortunately leave him. The stores will write it off as a loss and hopefully make a change.

I know :/
They had so many beautiful bettas though. My mom won't let me buy fish online. She thinks it's cruel. And that every thing online is a scam lol

Shipping fish is actually pretty safe, most shipping gets to you in a day or two and they don’t produce that much ammonia unless they are fed. They do have some really cool bettas though!
