I'm looking for a small water pump to pump water from my bucket up to my tank

Has anyone found any good small pumps to do this? I'm simply trying to make my life a little easier, basically a reverse siphon. I like to get large buckets of filtered water from the LFS, and would like to pump it up into my tank rather than lifting it or pouring it into smaller batches for me to pour.

I figure this will save a bunch of water splashed around and my back in the long run. Thanks.

I have a 20 gallon long ADF tank on the floor in my living room, beneath (but not touching) the tv stand. Since I put it there, I rarely turn on the tube! I knew siphoning poop would be a problem, so I bought an electric siphon, about $28. The brand is Coodia (I think?). So. I imagine that using the siphon in reverse might work??????

The problem is that most cheap water pumps can’t pump water more than 2 ft or so. If there is going to be one that can do it it’ll be expensive as poop

Oh yes, I understand more now. You want to siphon up, from a distance. I've done that with my electric vacuum. The new water is in a bucket on the floor and the tank is higher. The electric vacuums have very short hoses....... Embrace local hardware/Farm & Fleet stores. If the vacuum is powerful enough and if the nice people are willing to put up with you.... Bob's your uncle!

Plenty on Amazon. Just look for pump lift height.

I just ordered one off amazon and it’s great so far! It’s a strong pump. I think it was 10-15$

I use a diy MaxI jet powerhead. Lowes has tubing of different sizes, I believe the maxI jet is 3/8" on the output.

it can be used as a water polisher, vacuum, water pump, water changer, and skimmer.

Mine is the 1200 model, and the highest height i've pumped water is 60"

I bought two of these 550 GPH pumps. One mixes the saltwater in the Brute 44 gal tub and one is used to pump it 65 feet from the garage into the 90 gal tank in the family room.

Yeah, you'd look for a 'head' of 5ft or so. The more narrow the tube, the easier the water pushes.

I use a small internal filter, attached the tubing from my gravel vac and pump water in from there. However I'm not pumping from ground level. I wheel a 40l bucket for water changes around on an office chair (I got sick of carrying buckets).

I use a cart for my rubbermaid bins to wheel from tank to tank. But I want to have a stationary supply with a pump. I have a spare 60 gallon hex I want to use.

I bought this and 8ft of lift is a bit more power than I need for a tank that the top is about 5ft high, sitting on a side buffet as a stand. But I sure like how it gets the job done fast, just gotta be careful not to point the flow at the substrate. The same tank has to power a sunsun 504B canister filter that is raised about 18" off the floor, so either will pump water up from a bucket fine.
