I've got an appointment for next Wednesday. I'm so stoked. I went and checked out the shop today and it looked awesome, and my artist seems very cool... so I went ahead and paid the deposit to book the appointment. If all goes well I'll go back for the larger upper arm piece that I am planning.

I'm getting my inner right wrist tattooed with a stylized version of Charles Darwin's 1837 notebook sketch of the "tree of life"... over 20 years before the revised tree of life in "On the Origin of Species". The original sketch is fascinating, but would not translate as well to a tattoo as this one...

Oops, didn't upload from my computer, hopefully tapatalk works...

I'm still at only one tattoo, I got it for my 25th b-day. I want more, but every time I get the money and the nerve to go back, something happens and I can't! I love yours, very unique

Haha, I got my first one at 18 but it ended up being so regrettable that I had it covered up at 22 with a butterfly. I got a very small fleur-de-lis on my left wrist at 28. It's been 6 years since that one so I was due.

I have some other ideas as well. I really liked my artist so I'm sure I will go see her again in the future. You should post pics of yours.

Off topic, but is that Betta in your avatar Photoshopped? I mean, is he really THAT yellow? It's a cool pic either way, just had to ask.

edit: Here it is, it was originally meant to represent the Roman God Janus, the God who January is named after, representing the New Year, new beginnings, looking to the future but never forgetting the past, etc. But... a few months later that was the same year I got pregnant with the twins so it also represents them, LOL. They are 6 now.
