I’m getting 2 different colors which one is true

So my tank has been cycling and it’s been this way for a week but I test the ammonia and is around .25-.50 but over like a few hours it drops to none so what one is correct?

 

How long has it been cycling? Also, could you post a picture of your test results?

What is the source of ammonia?

15 minutes after what? Starting the test?

 

The test has to be read at exactly the five minute mark. Otherwise the color does not reflect what it is supposed to be.

The colors change over time. The 5 minute mark would be what I would consider correct.

I think OP means water was sampled 15 minutes after adding ammonia? But I could be wrong.
If I am reading correctly, and that is what you meant... I think ammonia returning to zero 24hrs after adding means your cycle is processing your ammonia properly. How do nitrites and nitrates look?
