I'm at walmart... Should I get this filter?

Hey guys I just wanted you opinions as I have no experience with this filter. It's an aqua-clean aqua-tech canister filter on sale from 79.93 to $50.00. It dies 200 gph and up to 55 gallons but I would have it on my 25gal.

Should I get it? It looks good.
Thanks!

You need to look at Aqua Clear Filters, hang on the back for twice the better filter action of that unit. They are not a quality unit compared to Aqua Clear filters. You will not find them at Walmart that's for sure. They are quite to operate and very easy to clean and do an excellant job in filtering your tank with little or no trouble. Most local fish stores have them or online stores. Good luck

Thanks gold coast.
I already have aqua clears but I need to upgrade and I thought canisters were better, although maybe not this one particular.

"Better" is a tricky word, MD Angels. A lot of people will agree with you there, and (I'm borrowing this from another member but I can't for the life of me remember who; I'll try to look it up and credit them later) the general rule of thumb is recommended
for a HOB filter:
gallons/hour = 10x(your total tank volume)
for a canister filter:
gallons/hour = 5x(your total tank volume)
so regardless of brand, it looks like that canister filter at 200g/h would have been fine on your 25G. Not all filter brands are created equal, but then again, not all budgets are the same, either! Many people feel that the aqua clear filter brand is very affordable, but there are lots of others who'd disagree with them. I'm of the opinion that if something less expensive does what you need it to, there's no need to feel bad about saving a little money to go towards that [insert your favorite bill here]!

I agree, more expensive isn't always better. I have an ebay special canister and its working great on my 75gal tank. Plenty of filtration. I just didnt set it up the way the recomended as far as what goes in what tray. I think if you know what your looking for and can make it do what you want and save a few bucks then go for it.

Thanks guys! I decided to leave with out it and do some more homework. I found a great site - oscarfish.com and it reviewed a whole bunch of filters and other stuff. It didn't review that one, but it did say that the penguin biowheel 350 were one of the best and I already have 2 of those. What the hey, I'll just get another one of those I suppose. Go with what works, right?

Thanks again for your input.
