Ill Angelfish

HI all. I have a small tank with a handful of tetras and my angelfish, Dave. He is about two years old but has been ill for about a week. He looks healthy with no spots or signs of damage, but he has been lolling about in the tank like he's drunk. This morning, I find him flat on the bottom of the tank. He is struggling to swim and is now facing down with his nose to the bottom of the tank. I've noticed that his stripes are constantly black, instead of fading from light to black like they normally do. The water has been changed regularly and a test didn't reveal any major issues. Can anyone suggest what may be wrong with Dave?

More specifics will help. Tank size? Temperature? Exact parameters? Do you have a picture?

Food as well can help, what does his diet entail?

The tank is 60 liters. Temperature is 75 - 78 degrees. Mainly fed on 'tropical flake food' and occasional bloodworms (frozen) When we first noticed him acting strange we dip tested the water and it was within normal levels (cant remember exact figures) We then changed 25% of the water and added some 'Prime'. He seemed to perk up a little and ate some food, but not much. Usually he's first to the food and has a good appetite. However he's at his worst today and I'm not sure what to do...

He's still alive, just. His eyes are now popping out and he's barely moving. Don't think he's eaten for weeks now. All other fish (tetras) in the tank are fine. I've tried 'swimbladder treatment', aquarium salt, and raising temp of the water. It's so sad to see him in such a state but no one has been able to help, and getting advice from local aquatic shops has been a waste of time.

Popping eyes sound like an internal bacterial infection. The stripes probably means it is distress. I doubt you can help it in this stage (sorry).

I've tried two doses of 'swimbladder treatment' for internal bacterial infections, but they've made no difference at all. Are there any 'anti-biotics' to try, or do you think it's too late for him. He's been ill now for over two months.

Not familiar with antibiotics here. I'd say it's probably to late. sorry.
