If you have a 40 Gallon Wide tank, would you show your set-up?

My largest tank is a 40 gallon wide, I wanted that partially for the space I have, but also for some depth for more decorating. I don't know if I've used the space to the greatest advantage, would love to see others. I'd also like to hear about your filtering system, and what fish do you keep in it? I've had mine for about 20 months and it has changed/evolved a few times.

Mine is my community tank and needs a cleaning and a WC today, will get some pics when it settles down. I might enter the Aquarium of the Month thread with it, too, have never done that. Floating plants have gotten way too far out of hand and will be dealt with in this cleaning.

Not sure if by wide you mean deep? I have a 44g with dimensions: 71 x 51 x 65 so 51cm deep but more of a high tank.

Mine needs some work at the moment, bulb replacements, algae problems and then more live plants as I've failed in this tank with them.

I also have plans for a complete rescape with lots more wood. I've struggled with scaping this one and changed it so many times.

Current stock is:

6 Boesemani rainbows
7 peppered corys
1 Sterbai Cory
1 BN pleco

I may add more, maybe silver tip tetras. Was my angelfish tank but they turned super aggressive once paired up and stressed me out so now is a very peaceful community just not sure on the rainbows long term but for now they are happy and have plenty of room.

Filtration is a combination of an 850 aqua one canister and a jumbo sponge.

I'm sorry for not converting inches, but my tank measures 36" across, 18' deep, and about 16.5" tall.

Yours is a different shape, but quite attractive and tall! I didn't know what the rainbows were, but looked them up - they're beautiful!! I need something stunning like that, but it would take me an hour to get to the store where I'd find them, they're not in any store close by. Maybe one day! Are they easy to care for?

I never did get my tank cleaned today, life keeps interfering with my fun times. I did throw away about about half of the floating plants, now I can see what color my fish are again! All my plants need a trim, the vals have gone crazy along the top in just 2 weeks. They help hold the floating ones away from the filter outflow when they're long, but it's just messy. I took a picture today, but hope the next one makes it look much better! The corys stole the show as I was snapping, always in the front!

Ha yeah yours I more a long shape so I was way off with the wide being deep part. I love all the plants it's stunning, I wish I could get some growth like that!

The rainbows are easy to care for yes, quite large and fast swimming at times so open water and some flow is appreciated I think. When I first got them they were a bit shy and were not overly interested in feeding but have settled now.

And yes enter the contest!
