Identifying a baby betta

Hello!

So, about a month and a half ago, I walked into Petco and took a glance at the betta section. And they had baby ones. I know all the debates about the babies being too young to be sold, etc etc etc... but he was so sad looking in that tiny cup that I couldn't leave him there.

Now, he is definitely getting bigger (I mean, come on! Its been a while since I bought him!) and his color has turned beautiful, but I still can't quite figure out what type of betta he is. He is also probably the feistiest betta I've ever had....

Veil tail? Maybe... Or quite possibly something else.

Can anyone help identify him? I'll add pictures XD

The beginning, aka when I first got him:

Could be a round/fan.
I was going to say delta but it looks a little too small

Well, he is still a baby! The body is only about an inch long. I know he has a lot of growing to do to catch up with his older brothers. He might be a round/fan. I just can't tell yet.

Welcome to Fish Lore!!! Nice to meet you!

I think he needs to grow up a bit more before I can give a more definite identification, but for now, I'm saying that he MIGHT either be a veil tail or halfmoon.

Alright everyone.... My betta has grown up and looks pretty good, but I would still like some opinions on what type he is. I was thinking initially that he would be a veil tail, but I have no idea now.

Also, that split in his tail... is that a problem? Do I need to medicate him with anything for it? Or is that just part of his tail? He's had it since his tail finished growing out.

And yes, the pictures are not the best, but he was quite hyped up with flaring fun, now that he knows how to do it.... And also, the tank will be cleaned today, as it is my day off, so if it looks a little dirty.... its because of that!

Wow!
I would guess a doubletail that hasn't quite formed all the way. He's beautiful!
