Looks pretty good. The only thing bad about it is the space it will take up behind the tank. If your tank is close to the wall, you're going to have issues. How big of a tank is this going on?

I'm also using a SunSun on my 75gal.

I was thinking of putting it on my 75 gallon.......

Or maybe filtering my 35 gallon bow.

I suppose it could be plumbed to go underneath ????

It's not enough for the 75gal. It will better suit the 35gal. The pump isn't strong enough so it won't have enough head to make it from under the tank to the tank. You'll have to hang it off the back or side of the tank.

Check out this video. It will show you how much flow it has:

I have my bow caddy cornered in our den. It will do a nicer job on our bow than the Whisper filter we are using now.

Just remember the CFS 130 is rated for "up to 30-40 gallon setups" so depending on the bio load and the stock you have in your tank, it may/may not be enough. I look at it this way: If it states "up to 40gal" then in reality it's geared towards max of 20/25gal.

If I were you I would leave the whisper you have on it now and add the CFS 130 so you'll have 2 filters running which will really help with the filtration. Always bear in mind that the more filtration you have, the better your water quality will be. Be sure to add quality media as well.

On my 75 gallon cichlid tank I'm using a Sunsun 304B canister filter rated for "up to 150 gallons". I divide that into 2 so it's actually 75 gallons. With 4 trays of media, it's working fantastic. I have an Eheim Pro 4+ 250 rated for "up to 65 gallons" which I will be adding along side the Sunsun 304b. I'll have 2 canister filters working which will give me better filtration and keep my tank cleaner longer. Also the maintenance clean up time will be farther apart. Example: I can clean 1 filter one month and clean the 2nd filter the next month. Another thing to note is incase one filter fails, I have a secondary as back-up.

Filtration, filtration, filtration!

That’s a very good idea. Thanks man I appreciate your brainstorming for my setup.

Thanks again!!!!

image.jpg Thanks for the awesome info and YouTube links man. The odyysea 130 arrived today. But one of the locking hinges was broken. It’s going back for a refund.

We did decide to add the aqua tech 20-40 hob on the other side of our bow. Now it is filtered with the whisper ex 70 and aqua tech 20-40.

I figured better to have it running than risking it seizing or collecting dust.

Got a question........ on the 75 gallon I have, was thinking of going half gravel and half sand.

Pros cons? What do you think?

Looking for a clam or two have any wanna sell?

Hmm, you can go sand on the bottom and gravel on top. Lots of members here do it that way because they have planted tanks. I have my 75 with sand only, my 40 with gravel only. My 45 and my 5.5 are bare.

Sry, no clams for sale. Don't own any, lol.

I can't believe I missed this thread.

Anyway, it seems like a good idea that you didn't go with this filter. I had one of a similar shape from the aquatop brand.

It worked good for about 1 year, then the intake stopped working. I found out the hard way that the filter will emit a shrill high pitched sound when this happens.

It's not funny (ok maybe a little) when it happens at 3 in the morning and you think it's the fire alarm :inpain:
