I hate most over processed cheese. The american cheese singles, nasty. Cheese sticks, nasty.
I like my homemade goat cheese!

I hate cheese wizz. Anyone else? Disgusting chemicals!

My husband loves that nastiness! I have to leave the room, can't watch him eat that . I can't stand processed cheese either. My mother was horrified that we have 5 different kinds of sliced cheese and none of it was American cheese. Thankfully my kids don't like it either.

The first time I tried mayo, it tasted like unflavored margarine. Been eating MW all my life, I happen to like a little flavor in my condiments.

Fresh bread, "peanut butter spread" (peanut butter mixed with marshmallow cream and a bit of corn syrup -- sweet & salty), Swiss cheese, & smoked ham. A side of pickles. Yum.

my favourite banh mI is from a vietnamese food truck in my city. they've got sriracha mayo and cilantro sauce sitting out that you can squeeze on there as much as you'd like. yummm. they have amazing rice bowls too. i'm crying just thinking about it... it's been too long. I might have to suck it up and go to an anime convention later this month just to get it lol Ugh
One of the perks of living in Manhattan is that you can have Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Cuban, Jamaican, Mexican, German, Jewish, Italian, all within a 6 mile radius. Downside is that rent can be stupid expensive.

Speaking of Miracle Whip vs. Mayo, I do like the tanginess of the former.

First, get your fresh Canyon Bakehouse bread loaf, and get three slices.
Next, pull out your mayonnaise, choice of cheese and lunchmeat, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles.
Lastly, place down a slice of bread spread some mayo on it, and then put your cheese, meat, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles onto each other, and stack the next piece of bread on top, and repeat the second layer, topping that off with a final piece of fresh bread.

So, yeah!
That's a good tasty sandwich
..alright, time for my lunch

That sounds good and all, but that second layer. . . I’d feel like a cartoon trying to eat that. I was at a restaurant and ordered a cheese burger and that thing was stacked 6” high, and I’m thinking, “Dude, seriously?”

Okay... so I sped read this thread, lol, but I don't think anyone's mentioned the Thanksgiving Sandwich made famous by Ross on Friends. I have to admit that I seriously love it... enough to make it outside of season once or twice a year. Mmmm, bread, (stuffing), on bread, is fabulous, as long as the turkey, gravy and cranberry sauce is there too. This, of course, is soo bad, but so good. All things in moderation.

Ohio Mark beat me to it, but yes, fresh bread makes the best sandwiches. I make a mean rye that is the only thing to eat pastrami or corned beef on and nothing beats a Rueben on fresh rye.

Never Miracle Whip... it's disgusting. So is Duke's mayo. Homemade or Hellmann's for the win.

Lastly, cold, deli-style sandwiches MUST have pickles!

Hellmann's yes. No other brand is getting into my house. And Heinz ketchup. I will not tolerate anything else. I've never made mayo though, maybe I'll try it

Miracle Whip, NEVER mayo, hard salami, thin sliced turkey, cheddar cheese (sharp preferred), on a wheat delI sub bun. Dill pickles on the side.
I like miracle whip and mayo mixed half and half but not miracle whip by itself. Mayo only on BLT's, tuna or chicken salad, or sliced turkey. No mayo anywhere near any kind of sandwich meat or burgers. It's yellow mustard, honey mustard, or in the case of a burger, ketchup.

I actually like Cheese Whiz. It's the best for a cheesesteak sandwich.

I don't like salt and vinegar chips at all. Plain or barbecue are my go to's but with the sandwich, not on it.

I love a good Italian sub with salami, pepperoni, ham, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and oil and vinegar.

As an aside, a burger is a sandwich but a hot dog is not. A sandwich is stuff put between two slices of bread. A top and a bottom piece. A hot dog has the bread on the sides and it's only one piece.

You're the first person I have met besides me that also likes mayo and MW half and half. I think most people are one side or the other on the mayo/MW debate. I especially love to do that when I make tuna salad. Gives it a little zip. Also good with olive loaf and American cheese on white bread. Olive loaf may start a fight though. #1 cold cut for starting arguments as to whether it is awesome or gross .

Hmm. When I was a kid it was peanut butter and syrup. Then there's bologne tomato and mayo.. it sounds very icky I don't like bologne or mayo but I like the combination. Bröchen (from niedlov's or publix chicago hard rolls) + kerrigold butter + roast beef + smoked white cheddar.

No fight here. I love olive loaf, but only if I can get it from a deli, like Boar's Head, and I just can't find it at a local grocery store anymore. When we visit more countrified locations, I always get some.

Olive loaf is just bologna with olives in it. I'll take plain bologna myself. With some yellow mustard.

Yellow mustard is good to mix into pork and beans. With a little sweet bbq sauce, a few minutes in the oven, and you have cheap baked beans.

For sandwiches, the mustard must be brown. DelI mustard is OK, but horseradish mustard is the best. I like it on brats and dogs.

I forgot that I do love a good Reuben. There used to be a little tavern two doors down from a great fish store in Chicago, made the best Reuben I've ever had.

I eat way too many sandwiches. Like the old Earl of Sandwich, it's convenient when you're doing something and don't want to stop for a full meal.

My favorite is roast beef, cheddar cheese, and sliced dill pickles.
Oh and for those of you out there who like to be adventurous with your sandwich ingredients try jelly and cheese. I know it sounds disgusting but you have to try it before making any judgments.
Oh yeah and peanut butter and tomatoes...
I should stop you guys probably think I’m really weird now

Whatever meat you want, some baby spring mix, green goddess salad dressing, and maybe a dash of Cholula. I prefer Dave's Killer Bread.

I enjoy a breakfast sandwich on whole grain bread with butter, berry or grape jelly, an over easy egg, bacon and cheddar. Like everything in a big breakfast, all contained in the sammy.

Oh, and I thought of y'all while at the store today.

4 meats, only one cheese but that's because I already have my favorite cheese at home. I'm never out of some kind of cheddar, usually sharp.

I only use plain white bread, rye, or Kaiser and sub rolls (white). Many times the bread gets toasted like for tuna salad, BLT's, or sliced turkey.

I just realized nobody mentioned the classic grilled cheese. I love one of those, either plain or with bacon or tomato and oregano. I always use good old American cheese. The real stuff and not cheese food or cheese product. I used to get what they called American Swiss which was a combination of the 2 but I can't find it any more.

Another good one. Fried egg with either ham or bacon on toast.
