Ideal Conditions For A Jack Dempsey?

Hey all, I just picked up a Jack Dempsey, and am new to the fish. I have a 65 gallon tank with three other convict cichlids (1-2" just like the Dempsey) and a bn pleco. I feed them once a day at night. I am not seeing fast growth in the convicts, but they're definitely growing and healthy.

But I am looking at things saying to feed younger fish more, so I'm putting the question here. For ideal growth of both convicts and jack dempseys,

1. How many times a day should they be fed?
2. What should their diet consist of?
3. How much growth should I be expecting, as in a growth rate

Thanks

Aggression may arise later with the convicts and JD. Feeding several small portions per day is better than one large meal a day for juveniles. As long as they have a daily staple of quality pellets etc and good water quality, then they will strive.

Live and frozen foods are good supplements to pellets.

I use HikarI cichlid pellets and they have been great. Either cichlid gold or bio gold plus. I really like the bio gold plus, since it enhances the fish's color better, and it doesn't make the fish poop so much etc.

Lol! I'm down to one danio in my tank because my "teenager" electric blue acara keeps eating them... I would move the tetras. Trying to find a home for my last danio before he also becomes a snack.. nature.. gotta love it.

The people above are right - the diet will include tetras.

Ideal conditions will be a large tank, probably a six footer. A lot of filtration, and lots of good sized rocks. Frozen and live food, lots of water changes, no crowding.

My far less aggressive cichlid decimated my danio school. Cant imagine the massacre of the tetras from a JD lol
