id cichlid Question

    Bought 2 of these last weekend from local aquarium store. Was told they were blue manda dolphin, but they don't look like the ones I've seen pics of. Look more like demasoni. Stripes are dark blue almost black unless agitated. Then they get bright blue

    Thanx. Got the only 2 they had @ pet store. They were definitely
    Mislabeled. Got a lil attitude 2. They run the tank now.

    There are many species of Rift Valley Cichlids that have a combination of Blue/ Black vertical stripes, and these fish may not be"mislabeled".
    Young fish do not develop full colouration until they become adult

    Yeah I know, but these were labeled as blue manda dolphin. Do blue manda start off this color, then change? All the pics I've seen of them look totally different. Color as well as shape.
