Ich Treatment Length

I got 2 parrot fish and 6 german blue rams all new. They developed ich a few days after receiving them. I had my rubberlip pleco in my tank.

The tank is 65 gallon and was completely cycled before putting the fish in.

To treat the ich ( I discovered 3-5 amall salt like grains on my parrot fish and rams) I put the temperature to 86 and started seachem paraguard. I'm on day 8 of treatment and I finally stopped seeing white dots on the fish around day 6. The temp stays between 85-86 degrees since the weather has been a little colder. I did 1 water change 3 days ago since starting treatment and did a gravel vacuum.

My question is how long do I continue treatment for? I previously had the temp at 82 before starting treatment.

The fish have always acted fine and eating normally.

I’d recommend one more treatment with the Paraguard a good gravel vac/water change and drop the temp back down to where you want it. Paying super close attention for the next week after treatment is completed.

Yea one more treatment per directions then water change with a good gravel vac. Then keep a close eye the next week to make sure it doesn’t reappear.
