Ich Treatment High Heat?

HI all!
After the first wc in our new 55 gallon we noticed one betta female with possible ich this morning. Will try and get a picture of her. On her topline. My question is we have cory catfish so can't use salt (?)
Any luck just bringing up the temp? Tank is at 80°
Or do medication treatment (which a friend has lost 3 to ich in the past)
Areil is so sweet as are all my fin kids. All input appreciated!
Water parameters all good
Use biowheel filter
Thanks!

A Med with Malachite Green will make quick work of it. Seachem Paraguard is my current Med of choice. It's gentle on plants. biofilters etc. Many Meds work well for ich.

I dose for about four days doing gravel vacuums and small WCs daily. Wait a week and dose once more to kill the stragglers if any. Then I don't change water for a few days. Strategies will vary but thios has been ectrmely effective for me and quicker than the heat method IMO. Salt nor extreme heat is good for many corys. Your betta can handle it fine IMO.

Are u able to remove the Betta into another tank? If it's just her, you can isolate the treatment...sometimes if the ich is too severe, you'll need the meds. But if not, usually clean water can help her naturally fight it off.

Malachite green works well too. Or you can doe paraguard

Paraguard contains MG. Apparently in lower concentration because it doesn't seem to harm my plants at all.

We also just got a fry nursery...could it be an injury? She also has brown on the top of her head. Of course she just had to join in on the picture lol

Sorry....I do have a 5 gallon I can move her to. Temp on that only gets to 78 as its non adjustable.

I don't see any ich...maybe it was just some debris that stuck onto your Betta and caused a false alarm (happens all the time ). She does look chunky tho...could use a little less food; or do you have her mating/egg-bound?

She's so gorgeous btw; I love the iridescent color she had

Thank you KinsKicks! She's my princess lol
Not mating. Shes in a large community tank with everything from mollies to neon tetras. I have another female Betta as well who's top boss. I'm concerned about the redness around her gills. Only one side. I have Melafix. Would it help?

I don't see ich either. Why did you make me do all that ich treatment preachin' and typing for nothing?

J/K , is that her normal coloration? That and closed fins is one of the earliest signs when there is an actual problem 75% of the time.

Just testing you Onthefly lol jk.
Yes that's her color. Once I got her in the glass for pictures it looked like new scale growth? But I just noticed the red gill.

She looks very bloated. Could be feeding her too much.

I agree. You don't have to starve her out but I would start having some days she gets fed just a very tiny bit. I am no betta expert but mine is much more slender and I think I feed him adequately.
