Ok so I have doing the heat treatment and have been doing water changes and vacuum the bottom on tsnk every other day for about a month, haven't seen one spot on my fish in a while but white specs are still floating around the tank, I'm not sure if it's ich or if it's my water I use, I live in NYC in an apartment and I noticed white specks in my drinking water today, I'm guessing it's just something in my water but now I'm not sure if it's ok to lower temp and start adding additional fish to my tank, is there any way to tell if ich is still preset in my substrate bc my fish are fine

Unless it attacks your fish there isn't really any way short of literally taking a water sample and put it under a microscope and knowing what you are looking for.

Did you do any medications for the ich or just the upper temp?

Also what are the current water parameters. The best way to keep ich from happening is to have healthy fish in healthy water.

Ich isn't visible if not on fish !! The white specs is something else.

So should I lower the temp?

Agreed and watch.. Healthy water = healthy fish = less likely for disease..
