ICH goldfish

The ich on my goldfish has been multiplying and is seen vividly on all of his fins and some on his body. I have tried everything I can think of I have bought a few different medications and nothing seems to be working, I have increased the temperature I have used salt and liquid medication. If anyone has any more suggestions, at this point I will try anything.

 

How much salt are you using? Goldfish can handle much more than other fish and salt is usually enough.

 

How long are you treating for? What meds are you using? Be sure to treat for the full length of time and do exactly what the bottle says. You need to keep at it and be sure to vacuum the gravel because a stage of the parasite lives there.

The salt says to use 1 tablespoon for every 5 gallons in the tank, would you recommend I up this dosage?

The tank is at 80 degrees Fahrenheit, I also have my airstone to compensate for the lower oxygen at higher temperatures.

 

when my goldfish had ich, i raised the temps to 86F for 14 consecutive days including salt. my fish didn't have any troubles. hope yours will get better soon!
