So as of late, I've been doing a lot of reading on differences between Ich and Epistylis. I think I understand that Epistylis is the deadly one of the two. But Ich can kill due secondary infections. If my understanding is correct. And I need some help racking some brains for what is going with a guppy in QT.
So about a week and a half after buying two female guppies, a female platy, and three SAES, and a round of antiparasitic, I was about to move everyone to their semi permanent residences, I noticed some white spots on one of the guppies tails. Great well, I know I needed to treat for Ich and I salted the tank and let it go for two weeks. Long story short, Ich seems to disappear briefly and then it comes back. Great, salt resistant Ich whatever. So I do a water change and use Rid-Ich Plus.
It's been three days and some, and I'm not seeing a difference. Plus the weird thing through this entire time, is that the Ich hasn't moved to the other fish in the tank. The dots are still on her tail, they don't seem to be sticking out, the guppy in question is eating and really active. To my understanding if she would have had Epistylis she would be dead by now. I don't want to risk my other fish in the permanent residences... So any suggestions?
Sorry for the blurry pictures, she won't stay still...
