Just wanted to show off my 5 betta tanks. Bettas are underrated and mistreated. Most bettas are bought for children as decor with a bowl or half gallon tank. Most people don't take in consideration that they're tropical fish like tetra and need a heater and filter to thrive. These poor little guys lots of times purely survive. Then a few ppl such as myself and others like you guys give these guys room to thrive and survive! And that is what every creature deserves these guys didnt ask to be taken from there environment shoved in a cup and sold for decorations but since human did it any ways the least we can do it give them a environment worth living in with a heater and decor for mental stimulation! I have 5 tanks 3 10 gal one 5.5 one 3.5 all have heaters and filters. What about u guy out there with bettas?

Nice! And also very true, they need as much care as any other fish. I have 3 bettas in a 20 long divided into 3 sections, a nice rimless planted 5 gal and one lucky betta in a planted 20 gal all by himself. I also have a couple African dwarf frogs in a 5.5 gallon, they’re pretty fun too.

Your tanks look great! I agree bettas tend to be mistreated so I'm that annoying person who comments on everyone’s facebook posts telling them what they need to upgrade lol. Heres my 5.5 gallon and my betta Puddles and 2 nerites Splish and Splash

I have a betta in a 5.5 with a small school of ember tetras and another old guy in an 8.8 with a nerite snail. Both tanks also have an Otto cat that helps keep the plants looking amazing. Yes they like shoals I agree but these guys are very well fed so please don’t judge

Heck yeah your bettas are living the best life it sounds like from cups to mansions! And I've always wanted a dwarf frog I have mystery snails with my female betta. She isn't bothered by the snails I'd love to try a dwarf frog or shrimp but I don't have a spare tank cycled if she decides to be a butt munch. She was my girl betta from my failed betta sorority. I had to find the girls homes to be solitary they weren't so nice.... but I kept two of them and gave them there own tank. I'd love to see pictures of yr tanks. a divided tank is what I need to do less space and electricity. U can use one heater and one good filter for all yr bettas in one divided tank on my bucket list lol

My that's a uniquely beautiful tank I love the decoration choice the silk plants look amazing! The gravel choice by far the most unique I've seen!

I got all my heaters from Amazon under 40$ for all 5 by decor Amazon to. Lots of my decor are silk and silicone bc plastic shreds there fins. Amazon is the cheapest place I can find betta friendly plants! Thank you for the compliment. Amazon has lots of add on fish stuff for even cheaper once u add something in your cart. It took me a few months to get all the tanks together and a few pay checks lolol

And heck yeah u even have other species in your tank to make it more intriguing I'm jelly lol u can come to MissourI and set me up a live planted tank

my gravel is only like that because I got paranoid that his tail dragging on the regular gravel would tear it so I added the smooth stones on top. Since I bought my plants petsmart added way more silk options so I definitely need to get a couple more!

You have some beutifull bettas. I just got a new female betta who gets to join my 38 gallon tank pretty soon. I have her in a breeder net to see how she reacts to the other fish before I put her in.

Hahahah thanks!! my tanks are all pool filter sand I like the natural look of it. Not judging gravel. Yes my 8.8 does have some but its partially buried by the sand. I don't think I can get to MissourI but I could definitely help you out with a nice plan to get a 5.5 going with some live plants if your interested!!

This is my sweet boy Reggie’s tank. It’s a heated 10 gal with plants and wood and dragon stone and a diy filter+lid. I prefer the natural look but it does not come cheap

His room mates are a mama mystery snail and around 27 babies.

My current Betta tank 5.5g

Its home to this boy, Doubletail Plakat. I had him for 3 weeks now, really active and eats really well too.
Some people think its a little low, but I've always kept my bettas in 25 - 26 degrees, with great results. They are never lethargic nor encounter any disease. The key is to ensure not to overfeed and find 5 -10 minutes to engage with them each day if possible.

Hands down beautifully very nutritious gravel very bright plants that look healthy. That temp is perfect in my opinion. Great plants the key to a healthy betta is giving them a clean environment. U can actually get away with not having a heater if the tank stays room temp like your saying heck with all your live plants you probably don't even need a filter. In my opinion filters keep my water crytal clear in between water changes but I feel most uneaten food and poop settles in your gravel n u gotta vac it out... unless u have a sump system or freaking under gravel filter!

I'm in Sydney Australia, and these different types of bettas are really popular now at our LFS. This little male cost me $22.50, which is ok considering that some really fancy ones go up to $35- $40 per fish.

Thanks! I actually never gravel vac any of my tanks, as they are planted. This tank has a colony of cherry shrimps that normally takes care if there is any uneaten food and the poop normally just converts into plant food.

Heck yeah me I never have tried a fully planted tank with nutrious soil and plants I bet it's less maintenance even thought its expensive to start! No gravel vac heck yeah me I have to bc I have cheap gravel and fake plants! I really wanted a neat betta but I'd have to order it over here in MissourI opal and koi bettas are popular non of the neat double tailed or show quality bettas are seen in ny petsmarts and petco I'm almost about to buy this lavendar plakat on ebay

High tech planted tanks have a very high startup cost (in the hundreds of dollars for even a nano) but long-term maintenance is inexpensive. Low-tech (lower lighting, no CO2) is (much) less expensive but can still be a big investment if you go with an aquasoil substrate and plant heavily. A large bottle of fertilizer lasts forever on small tanks, and doing your weekly water change and trimming plants every couple of weeks is really all you need to do to keep them clean and maintained if they are balanced and healthy. Keep a low bioload, heavy plantload, and feed sparingly and algae will be kept to a minimum.
