    sand is fine
for other easy plants try some marimo's, anubias, duckweed, frogbits, banana lillies tear drops, hair grasses.
all you will need is seachem flourish, seachem nitrogen, and api co2 booster; you won't even need to dose all of those, they are just in case/like once a month with those types of plants

accidentally hit send twice it seems, sorry ;)
not sure how to delete, maybe a mod

Yes you can! Neither of those plants grow in substrate so you can tie or glue them to the hardscape.

Just remember that goldfish like to tear up plants so don't buy anything that cost too much.

Thanks everyone! I'll buy some seachem products and tie some java moss to some rocks to make a cool aquascape.

You should probably also be OK with just a small bottle of seachem flourish or another product that has trace/micro fertilizer. Also may not want to buy co2 booster until you find out if the goldfish will dig them up first, I prefer seachem excel anyway (just my opinion). Might see how it goes before buying anything, but with a goldfish you definitely won't need nitrogen.
