I currently have a dwarf gourami that has developed a open sore right above his eye.

I had a dwarf flame gourami that started with the same thing and ended up hiding, not eating then dead a while ago.

I thought the issue with the gourami virus was over. Now it looks like the same thing is happening to this one.

    Argh

I think I wont get any more of these, although they have become one of my favorites..........

They're adorable but I gave up after my 2nd DG. From what I read they're also susceptible to bacterial infections, so don't give up on him too soon.
    Keep us posted.

I love DGs. I had one, but it developed a large pinkish growth right on it's gill slit, struggled to breathe and died after about two or so months. Still not sure what happened to it. :/

Sorry for your loss :( Don't let a death of a fish keep you from keeping them! Just learn a bit more and I'm sure you'll be very satisfied with your outcome.

I'm so sorry, Reds. I don't have luck with dwarf gouramis, either.

I have had luck with my honey gourami. Maybe you could try one of them. Since they're not susceptible to the virus, they may do better for you.

    I hope this helps:;hug2

Thanks BB, I tried a honey and it lasted for about 2 days...............

Firemouth, That is a nasty virus those dwarf's get. I'll stay away from those. There are so many other fish to choose from its ok.
