I Think There Are Mosquito Larvae In My Tank.

I think there are mosquito larvae in my tank. I have a 3.6 gallon tank with 2 mystery snails, some plants, and some shrimp. Nothing new has been added to the tank except for 3 Tropica marimo balls that I added last week. These are definitely not shrimp babies. They look exactly like mosquito larvae. I've done a 50% water change and syphoned a few out as I see them and they still keep appearing. There aren't many of them, but there are some. Are they going to harm my snails/shrimp? Is there any harm in leaving them for now?

I am getting a 15 gallon tank soon, but it hasn't arrived yet. I know fish would eat them, but I don't want to stuff any into a 3.6 gallon, and I don't want to get any fish until my 15 gallon is planted, cycled, and has a stable shrimp population.

mosquito larvae won't harm your fish.

I've been trying to get mosquito larvae in water I leave outside. So far, nothing. There aren't many mosquitos here anyway though. I think I've been bitten twice in 12 years.

I had a ton of fruit fly larvae in my tank, but my mystery snails ended up eating them all in a few weeks. The fruit fly larvae are pretty similar to mosquito larvae, so the mystery snails should take care of the problem

I need to move where you are... the mosquitoes here are on some other level Jurasic Park type deal- They are HUGE.

Found some larvae in my axolotl tank this morning and fed them to my betta babies. First time doing that too.
