I just went down stairs (Room is in the basement) and checked in on him. He is swimming around happly. Going around is little castle/mountian decor and just having a good time. I just got done 100%ly cleaning the 40gal my parents have...which they won't let me care for. It took me 2 hours....and it could still use more cleaning seeing it hasnt been fully cleaned off in over a year. I'm tired....lol

I love the way Shawnie says they are ONLY good for 3 years! I've had mines for 2-3 months max, and I'm nearly done with the nitrate test bits and of course the ammonia one is dwindling too! (Come on, I mean only 5 drops for Nitrite and 8 for ammonia, 10 for nitrate! Terrible lol)

I'm so glad he's getting better, can't believe it was that though! As I've said before, these fish are so mopey, and the simple solutions (water change), do so much for them.

IF I have any left after a year, I replace mine...but usually that's just the nitrite solutions

Hey, have you thought about putting him in the 5gal once you get it clean and making a DIY sponge filter like I did for Amun when he was in his 2gal? It worked REALLY well and cost me all of $1.87. You just take an old betta cup (the ones from Petsmart work well because they're taller...the ones from Petco are too short), gravel from an established tank, clean unused pillow stuffing and a piece of clear rubber tubing you can get at the hardware store (the 1" diameter tube fits perfectly through the hole in the top of the betta cup lid). Cut four notches in the bottom of the tubing for air flow, stick it in the cup, then layer the gravel on the bottom and the pillow stuffing on top. Pop the lid on, stick an air stone down the tubing and plug it in. VIOLA! Instant sponge filter!

Lol Bassbonediva. I have a 5gal I'm in the process of cleaning one...but idk if I'll use it. It was sitting in a barn for 2 years...I'm a little unsure. I mean I'm the guy that boiled rocks for his 25gal for 8 hours.... Anywho, CajuanFiberco my parents were out of town this weekend. So I attacked the 40gal with everything I got >. Took me 2 hours...but I got the thing looking very good. Hopefully they'll give me a little money to reaquascape it because as of now....and for the last 5 years the only think in the tank decor wise has been river rocks....>. Ill do before and after pictures so everyone can see when I do lol.
