55 Gallon Tank I think some of my barbs are sick?

This morning I woke up and I noticed some of my barbs are a little listless and not interacting with their schools.Upon closer inspection I noticed that those not as active have white stuff around their mouths (only their mouths so far) I was wondering is it from fighting? a disease? or a sore because I haven't done a WC?

Age of tank: 3 and 1/2 weeks
Size: 56 gallons
Cycled: near the end of the 14 days after using TSS
Products used- TSS, Top Finn Water Conditioner, (Top Fin Bacteria Supplement, Top Fin Stresszyme (both was used prior to TSS) )

I am using the API Master Water Test Kit and these are my results:
Temperature: 78 degrees
PH-7.0
High PH- 7.4
Nitrate-20 ppm
Nitrite-0
Ammonia-0

Thank you for help in advance.

A picture of the affected fish would help other members advise you further. In the meantime, maybe do some research on cottonmouth and see if you think the symptoms fit. Being relatively new to the hobby that's all I can recommend, hang in there until you get some more responses!

Matt B,

Thank you for the lead and advice. I believe

photo(3).jpg what the barbs have is cottonmouth. My questions now are:

Sorry for the poor pics, fish don't like to stay in place....hahaha
How much of a WC should I do?
What medicine works best in people opinions?
I have a Fluval 406 and the advice given is to turn off the carbon filter, so how do I do that?

Once again thanks for all your help.

In regards to the carbon question, whenever you use medications you will still have your filter running but you remove the carbon insert from it. Reason being carbon will remove meds from the water just like any other impurity. After a course of treatment you then put fresh carbon in to remove the meds. I wouldn't jump to using meds just yet, lets let someone with more experience chime in.

Also, though I have never used TSS, from what I understand you shouldn't do any water changes for 2 weeks after adding it.
I'll message another member to have a look and see what they think. The pics are pretty blurry but lets see what we can do.

Since nobody else has chimed in I would say your cycle seems to be complete. Imo you could go about the treatment two ways: either do several pwcs over the next couple of days to give them the best water quality you can and just that may clear up the issue, or alternatively if it is cottonmouth I've read a combination of primafix and melafix can help. Hope this info helps and your fishies get better.

Forgot to mention, if you decide to medicate I would still do a large wc before starting meds since you haven't done one in 2 weeks I'm assuming.

Matt I did a large WC, waited a day or two to see if they got better. Woke up with 4 dead one morning. Did another WC and then started the meds. Here's hoping for the best.

Well the the past 3 weeks have been CRAZY. 1st my tiger and green tiger barbs work together to kill all the Odessa barbs except one. Then they catch cottonmouth and All the rosy barbs, 1/2 the tiger and green tiger barbs die. The only fish to survive everything are my giant danios and Theo my catfish. Haha at first I thought I may have over stocked my tank..... Now I have barley any fish in it. SMH
