I think my pleco was a little bit too curious about the sponge filter... :hilarious:

Maybe there was a buried treasure underneath? Or a perfect spot for a new home?

It is confirmed that it was, in fact, my pleco.

He has a nice terra-cotta pot but I guess this is just so much better.

Some better quality pictures when I realized I could get closer without scaring him.

Upon further inspection of the above photos I have discovered it appears as though he was trying to steal a tv. Enjoy the edit I made to one of the photos.

Pleco's seem to be attracted to throbbing filters...not sure why exactly but mine keeps doing the same as yours.....although my filter is alot higher off the substrate than yours. That said, Percy, did master the art of hanging off the bottom of the filter and slowly dragging it down the glass......he is not happy with me today though, I cable tied the filter to the top of the glass so now he is trying with all his might to pull it down and getting absolutely nowhere

My best guess is that he figured out that all the debris get dragged towards the filter, so it became an easy source of food for him

    Update on Mr. Pleco:
He has a new interest! He seems to enjoy catching bubbles from the sponge filter...

I’ve watched him do it like 5 times tonight.

I think we can conclude that the filter is his new toy XD

I had to superglue the bottom of my filter casing on yesterday. Percy Pleco has been hanging off it so much and trying so hard to pull the filter down the glass that the intake tube cover box came off.....and rather than have the fish minced in the impeller I had to glue the casing shut, I had to use plastic cable ties to keep the filter suction cups from sliding down the glass cos of his antics.......Percy Pleco the filter hugger & killer

(Goodness knows what will happen if I ever have to replace the impeller)
