I Think My Lobster Ate A Dead Fish.

I don't know why I find this amusing. Not like "haha" funny but just... amused. I had 5 Electric Yellows and two of them I had plans to rehome. The two were smaller than the other Electrics and were being picked up so I used separation methods and what not for a bit but those failed so I was getting ready to rehome them.
A couple minutes ago I looked in the tank and the one fish that got bullied the most was missing. I looked around the decor and found zero trace. The only way this fish could have vanished is if it died and Roomba (My tangerine Lobster) ate him. I feel sad that I couldn't save the fish in time and now I just have to rehome the one (he's not bullied as bad as the other fish).
However, at the same time it's like... Dang Roomba you fatty! It's amazing how well he cleaned up and that there's no trace to be found. Nature is truly amazing!
Even though our fish are captive let's just take a moment and appreciate them. They live in an aquarium and we get the pleasure to watch their natural behaviors and the circle of life. To be honest, if that fish was doomed to die in the end I don't mind that Roomba ate him since it's just his natural behavior. I feel it's better than throwing it away.
I would have saved the fish sooner if I had known it was that close to death but what happened, happened and now all I can do is save his brother. Unfortunately for Roomba he's gonna go on a small diet now.

Disclaimer : My fish are NOT at risk of being eaten alive. The Electric Yellows and my Tangerine Lobster actually get along very well and have lived together very peacefully for a good while. They all have their space and plenty of room to move about. I feel I have to say this since there's always that one person...

It's very possible, though I always make sure to check around the aquarium along the floor when fish go missing. (I have glass lids too, so they can't even jump.) I have one insane cleanup crew myself and honestly I never have a trace of fish when they disappear. Between my 9 loaches and 6 cats of different species, fish disappear in a matter of minutes in my tank.

Yeah! I have glass lids as well and the fish is too big to just be hiding THAT well. At least Roomba got his dinner.

Oh boy, and does he hate diets!

I thought so. Though all I can think about is how I'll have to do another water change and clean up all that poop. Them crayfish are poop machines. They eat everything and poop a lot.

My dream fish is a blue lobster but they're just too aggressive for my community tank. I love my loaches too much.

In all honesty Crayfish like lobsters should live alone because they will hunt your fish and eat them if they get the chance. I choose to house him with Electric Yellows because they are bigger fish, semI aggressive, don't have long fins, and fast. However, that doesn't mean it will work for everyone. You need plenty of space for the lobster and fish (if you are putting him with fish) Also temp compatibility is big for them just like fish. They do like their water on the warmer side. You can't keep him with snails or anything else cuz he will eat EVERYTHING lol.

He’s leading by example. You should follow suit. To continue the circle of life, you can have lobster tail with garlic, butter sauce after he passes .

Oh I'm well aware! That's why I don't have one. My weather loaches would get snipped in two just because they're curious little noodles.

What cracks me up is Roomba was in his cave all day long, most likely digesting the fish, then when I got to feed the fish... ZOOOM! Here comes Roomba running outta his cave!

Lol reminds me of my mollies. They're greedy. They zoom up, all eager, fighting for the best position... Regardless of why I'm there... I might be trimming the plants. (And then they have to taste test the trimmings)

They're so bad that I have to hand feed the snail every now and then to be sure he gets enough. Poor guy.

I know the fish, snails, crawfish, etc will all eat dead fish, so it's not a mystery to me if a fish is gone. But what I don't get, is why I can't find any bones. Do they eat the bones too?

Of course fish will swallow whole, but we're talking about the case where they are all dining on a larger fish or same size as them, and you still can't find the bones. I've seen crawfish eat fish, and they can pick at it with their claws or mouth, so I don't see that they would necessarily eat the bones.
