I Set Up A Betta Tank For My Roommate!

My roommate wanted a betta for his birthday, so we’ve been working on this tank for a month! Tonight the fish came home and seems to be doing okay

The tank is an Aqueon 5 gal kit. I added fluval stratum, snails, duckweed, and a moss ball from my other tank. The lotus I grew from a bulb outside. My roommate bought the rest of the plants, not quite sure what kind they are! Oh yeah and a pothos stem is hanging out in there.

A name is still being decided

That’s a very nice thing to do for your roommate. The betta and tank look just beautiful.

Thank you! It was so fun getting someone else into the hobby. And honestly I will accept any excuse to have another tank in this house lol!

Certainly, if you have an opportunity for another tank where you live, you’ve got to take it lol.

I’ve always thought being able to introduce someone to the hobby and share it with them is such an enjoyable and rewarding experience. It also helps you get them on your side... for more tanks...

So far the betta will only eat duckweed! He’s refused bug bites and freeze dried blood worms. Will be trying ocean nutrition betta pellets next I think
